Benefits of a commercial washing machine
Commercial washing machines have multiple usability, performance and efficiency advantages for businesses. From compact commercial washers in a care home to heavy-duty machines in a hotel chain, the following benefits will provide you with maximum assurance.
- Durable and robust materials that are built-to-last.
- Larger capacities to cope with the demands of a commercial business.
- Bigger door openings to accommodate bulkier loads and for faster loading and unloading.
- Advanced technologies, including more energy-efficient SMART features.
- Compliance with regulations and insurance policies.
Sustainable commercial washing machines
Reducing the use of gas, electricity, water, and detergents plays a vital role in making commercial laundry machines an environmentally friendly solution, to achieve cost savings and to create a more effective laundry operation.
JLA’s SMART technology uses advanced sensors and intelligent systems to calculate the precise amount of water, energy, and detergent needed for each laundry cycle. This ensures optimal cleaning performance while avoiding unnecessary waste.

Washing machine capacities and sizes
Light duty commercial washing machines typically have a capacity of 5kg – 8kg and run for approximately 8 washes a day. This makes them ideal for businesses who require regular but light washing such as a B&B or social housing.
Medium and larger commercial washers are well suited for laundry rooms requiring higher throughputs of laundry, such as hotels. These machines can vary between 20kg and 80kg and capacity, although it is common to operate multiple machines.
Industrial washers are much larger to handle significantly higher volumes of laundry with a capacity up to 180kg.
