Daily loads and a long service life mean that even the most robust commercial tumble dryers can develop minor faults and errors over time.
Here at JLA, we have an extensive network of in-house engineers across the UK to help reduce downtime and get you up and running again.
We always recommend avoiding attempts at making any major repairs yourself, or opening up your dryer.
As well as being unsafe, this can also void your warranty. If you’re in any doubt, it’s always better to call for an engineer.
‘Sail switch open’ fault error on my dryer
A safety device, the sail switch shuts down your dryer if there isn’t enough air getting through its vent. We recommend clearing obstructions in addition to avoiding overloading, lint build-up, or blockages. There could be a more significant reason for the error, including wiring or connection issues, so an engineer should be able to provide additional advice and diagnose the problem with your dryer.
My commercial tumble dryer won’t start
If your machine won’t start, there could be a wide range of issues. This could be a simple problem like a door jam, a coin jam with coin-operated equipment or something more significant.
We recommend contacting an engineer so they can evaluate any problems and get the machine up and running again.
My dryer isn’t heating or drying items
If your loads are coming out damp, there could be a myriad of reasons from not using the correct programme to lint build-up and faulty heating elements or defective thermostats.
If the problem still persists once you have eliminated basic user errors, we suggest contacting a laundry engineer to investigate the problem.
Clean lint message on dryer
If the ‘clean lint’ message keeps showing up despite regular clearing, your lint drawer or door switch may need a quick reset. There could restricted airflow or a problem with the senor, which may require rectifying from an engineer.
