Beatson Cancer Charity saves money and reduces carbon footprint thanks to JLA
We recently donated one of our dishwashers to Beatson Cancer Charity in Glasgow.
They support people affected by cancer, and are transforming the way cancer care is funded and delivered. They provide services, as well as funding specialists, research and education to invest in a better future for cancer patients and their families.
In 2017 they delivered 88,000 cups of tea and 28,000 cups of soup. They used to serve them in double walled disposable cups costing 13p each, but thanks to JLA’s commercial dishwasher they can serve tea and soup in ceramic cups. This helps them reduce their carbon footprint and will save them over £15,000 every year, which means the money can be put to better use helping patients and families.
Kathleen McLaren, Head of Trade for Beatson Cancer Charity says “I would like to send you my heartfelt thanks, as well as the cost saving it saves so much time for the staff and volunteers – it’s greatly appreciated.”
